D.O.N.E.

And I am now, OFFICIALLY, no longer going to be scheduled at the blind school. The days are mine again! And lo, the heavens did open and the angels did sing.

I nearly quit, about sixteen different times, and I just want to sit here and revel in the fact that I didn't throw in the towel. I finished. It was hard, it was emotionally and physically exhausting, and it cost me nearly $2,000 in childcare, but I am done.

The last eight months and I have not been friends, and if you'll remember, I had to actually fight hard to get in this school in the first place, what with all the state budget cuts. You would think that would make me appreciate everything more, and never complain. That's because you don't know me all that well.

I am happy to be home again. I can bake cookies without burning down the house, and I can cross streets without risking my life. I have a lot more confidence, and a lot more appreciation for what it's like to live with a disability.

So now, I wait for the blindness to kick in. So that I can stick my tongue out at it and go, "Nah nah nah nah nah. You can't beat me."

I'm proud of you. It feels good not to be afraid of things anymore, because you've conquered them!
