The actual surgery wasn't so bad. I started laughing during it, which made me laugh even harder, because who would have thought laughing gas actually caused laughing? And THEN I started laughing even more, because I started thinking, "Uh oh, I hope it doesn't also cause gas" which is really only funny when you're high on laughing gas.
The doctor was seriously sweating during the surgery. He said my two lower teeth were both right next to some nerves, and then I started to feel what he was talking about, so he numbed me up some more. I'm a little worried he got too close, because I'm STILL numb on my bottom lip. I'm mad at him for possibly giving me lip gimp, but there's not much to be done about it now, so I guess I'll have to go with it. Hi, I'm Renee, and I have Lip Gimp. Your story sounds a little like Sheri when she was coming out from her surgery haze. I asked her how she felt and she said..do I have boobs? Then she just started laughing like a crazy. The nurse came in and was afraid she was crying. But Sheri just kept on laughing.
I am picturing you with a fuzzy hat and clear platform shoes with goldfish in them, talking with your Pimp Lip Gimp. Shut yo mouth!
Gimp Lip is not fun. Eating is not fun with gimp lip. I feel for you. Is that numbness normal?

ok, lip gimp is totally why i haven't gotten my wisdom teeth out yet. when i went in for a consultation like 15 years ago, they said the root on one of my teeth is right by the nerve and that i could possibly lose feeling there. so seriously, why would i do that? you are brave and i applaud you.
Renee, I know what you're going through. There's a technical name for it...can't remember. When I got my bottom wisdom teeth out one of them was also close to the nerve. I had some nerve damage and was numb on my bottom left lip/chin for about 3 months. It slowly got better. If you feel any tingling or bolts of "electricity" it's a good sign. My Dr. gave me a medrol dose pack (steroids) to help it get better faster. Good luck! oh and by the way....kissing is no fun until you get feeling back. :)
