Pantry Wars

You guys make delicious things right?  Yeah, I usually don't.  My sister-in-law Kelli observed recently that she has never seen me bake anything.  We've known each other for 10 years.

In my pantry, fridge, and freezer, I have butter, animal crackers, frozen blueberries, sugar, eggo waffles, raisins, brown sugar, flour, 2 eggs, apple juice, 3 chicken breast, frozen carrots and corn, oatmeal, honey nut cheerios, elbow macaroni, sharp cheddar cheese, powdered milk, green onions, and a cabinet of various spices.  If I lived in prairie times, I might be considered "good to go" but in prairie times, they ate things like cinnamon chicken (Little House reference) (also, GAG) so I don't really think I want to look at this from that point of reference. Let's play Top Chef, and you need to tell me how to make something delicious out of my kitchen.  If you can give me a recipe I can use, I will make it, feature it on my blog, and send you a crisp dollar bill for your troubles.

In the meantime, a favorite of mine:

Also, I wonder what I'll order from Taco Bell tonight...

I forgot to mention the peanut butter and the jelly, which I have been living on for the past month. I must have blocked those out. Brain says no more sandwiches.

I...wish I could help you. :) I keep trying to make things in my head, but nothing I know how to make will come out of those ingredients. You could make my poofy pancake (half recipe, since you only have 2 eggs) and put raisins and a little brown sugar on the top? Maybe?

I would totally make homemade mac and cheese. You have sharp cheddar! Cook elbow noodles, make a white sauce and add cheese. I usually also add in a teaspoon of ground mustard and Worcestershire sauce to give it some kick. Although I can't take credit for the recipe. It's Betty Crocker. If you're the type of family that has to have meat, just grill up the chicken with some salt, pepper, and your favorite spices. If you had salsa, I would cook the chicken in salsa. But that wasn't on your list. Do you seriously live in AZ and not have salsa?

there is this website, supercook.com or something like that, I think I may have mixed up the name (i got that from mom, darn her) that you can list what ingredients you have and then it suggests recipes.

you could dredge your chicken breasts in flour with various spices and then sautee them until they are cooked through. Then you could make macaroni and cheese to go with them. Also you could serve the frozen carrots and corn with it.

I think you should make a soul food night with fried chicken and waffles. Make a spice breading with your "various spices", mix with flour and maybe a tiny bit of oatmeal if you're feeling flirty. Coat the chicken in the whipped egg, and then pan fry or bake. Then pop some eggo's in the toaster, grab a glass of apple juice and voila, you mine as well be eating at Lo Lo's Chicken and waffles in phx. Serve the Apple juice in Ball jars. I'll take my dolla dolla bill ya'al now.

Why don't you just bag it and go to McDonald's? That way you don't actually have to touch any food.
