If only I didn't feel like the title was yelling at me...

NBC's Who Do You Think You Are aired its Season 2 Premiere episode last night, and can I tell you? I am so excited for this show. I watched last season loyally every Friday night, and then I would go online and watch the episode again. It is my absolute favorite show on television. Celebrities, Genealogy, History, Archivists and their adorable bow ties, Crying, Laughing, Hugging. It's just everything I could want in a TV show. I love it.

My friend Sarah and I watched last night's episode together, and I'm going to suggest you find a friend to watch it with too, because you absolutely need someone there who will "Awww" with you when the obituaries are read, and also totally get that you need to roll your eyes when the celebrity says something ca-razy (like when Vanessa Williams was all, "I wonder who else in my family is amazing like me?")

My biggest goal this year is to find five new names on my mom's side of the family, and to find twenty new names on my dad's side. I give my mom's side a lot more leeway, because Mexican roots are hard to dig up. This show does a lot to inspire me to keep searching, and also to find family to whom I can feel a connection. (You know, someone amazing like me...) It's not an easy goal, but I'm 100% invested, and I feel pretty good about my ability to reach it.

I know a lot of my readers are LDS, and many of you have someone who has already done the work for you, as far as searching out the names and building up that family tree, but that doesn't mean you can't get involved in the process of seeking this family out, and really seeing who came before you. I promise you, it's very exciting, and it WILL make you cry, and laugh, and, hopefully, hug. You can't know something like Grandpa drove a Bread Delivery Truck and not feel like sharing that with the people in your family who you know will share your pride.

(The war stuff is important too, obviously, Grandpa.)

And if you're not into all of the gushy smushy stuff, just watch this show with me anyway, because Steve Buscemi's episode is going to be awesome, and Gwyneth Paltrow's promises to be full of eye-rolling moments aplenty.

Find Last Night's Episode Here and totally, it's worth it for the dramatic thing Vanessa Williams does with her head every time she gets new information. Love love love.

I cry almost every 2 minutes when I'm watching that show. And this episode did inspire me to look a little deeper into who my ancestors were as people, not just check to see if their "work" has been done and then move on.

P.S. I wish I could have been there last night, but seriously, I was asleep by 7pm.

Oh yay, I totally wanted to watch this, but when I heard about it is was between seasons (yes, I am way behind) and I couldn't find it anywhere. Then I forgot about it. You reminded me! Thanks!

Okay, I really want to watch this show now! It sounds intriguing. And P.S. I am still in with no diet coke since what was it three days ago with you guys?
