Walks to School

(Nobody wins Pantry Wars because we ate McDonald's  -  because that meant I didn't have to touch chicken.  I probably should have mentioned that part first huh?  About not wanting to touch the food?  Maybe?  Sorry.  I know, I cheat.)

Lennon does cute stuff on the way to school.  We walk every morning, and she's always in such a good mood.  It's hard not to be in a good mood too.  Some mornings we take the iPod and she listens to "Daddy Music" on the earphones.  Sometimes I accidentally have it on shuffle, and she'll get Ben Folds or The Avett Brothers, and she FREAKS OUT because, "That is NOT Daddy Music!"  It's a lot cuter than it sounds.   What I love most is when I catch her humming, and she looks up, kind of shy, and says, "It's my favorite part."  I get the feeling she hums that part throughout the rest of the day.

Sometimes she unties her unicorn from its post on our porch, and she rides it all the way to school.  Passersby probably think she has to use the potty, but we know better.  She ties Uni the Unicorn to the tree closest to her classroom, and we have to remember to pick him up after school, so he's not tied up all night.  Once, we forgot.  Luckily, he was able to get free, and he showed up at our front door, just in time to eat an apple and fall asleep.

This morning we counted to sixty, twice.  It was kind of a big deal.

I'm pretty much in love with my mornings.

This is life. This is as good as it gets. Really. I will mourn the day when my children no longer want to ride a unicorn to school.

Is Uni the Unicorn the one I got her at the princess palace? I hope so, because that is just too cute for words. Daddy music is so adorable, and I'm sure Eric loves that.

Thanks, Renee. Your blog captures moments of Lennon when I can't be there but you still share with me.

I didn't realize that unicorns ate apples? I thought they ate Leprechaun poop. Weird.
