I started out just nodding to them. That seemed most appropriate, what with the earliness and the hotness and the lateness to school. Then, about two weeks ago, I introduced the, "Hi!" and worked my way up to a quick, somewhat hesitant, forced cheerful because, remember, it's early, but still quite friendly "Good morning!" along with the nod. I felt pretty good about it.
This morning, the one in the wagon looked up at me through a curtain of yellow hair, and said (with awe? anger?), "You sound just like Mickey Mouse."
And you know what? I COMPLETELY DO!

You do, a bit! Kids have a way of breaking the ice in spectacularly humbling fashion, don't they?
You should have responded by kicking the wagon over. And when she started to cry you could say "You sound like a failure".
Eric, I fall in love with you more and more every day.
That pretty funny, Eric! I needed a good laugh!
