Mrs. Mouthy challenged me to write about Africa (among other things... I looked up the mating habits of paramecia, and there were too many big words.  Sorry, Rachel).  I realized I had an old post that I never published, because I felt it was too long, and I had mentioned Africa in it at one point.  Because it's been a while since I've put anything up here, and because I hate backing down from a challenge from Mouthy, I figured I'd just go ahead and publish that post, despite the fact that it's longer than Oscar Night.
